Wonderful Amanjiwo, Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta in Indonesia is a wonderful holiday destination for travelers, especially the foreigners. You will find abundant number of hotels in various rates. If you want to experience the different kind of hotel amenities, come to the Amanjiwo Hotel in Yogyakarta which is one of the famous 5 Star Hotels in Yogyakarta. My brother told me that it is the most expensive hotel in Indonesia at the moment (I was shocked to hear that, I thought St.Regis was). Room rates from USD 750, excluding tax at 11 per cent. Yes it is expensive but I think you will get what you pay for. If you are kind of person who likes to and can afford to pay for the best you honestly can't go wrong here. If you are not prepared to spend, don't come here.
My favorite part of this hotel is the cultural aspect. The design is genius, it mimics Borobudur, and the sightlines are actually lined up so you can see the great temple from the centre of the complex, looking outwards. The actual dining area is huge. airy, semicircular and open to the back of the main building, with absolutely staggering views of Borobudur, surrounding countryside and not-too-distant volcanoes. Interiors include four-pillar bed on a raised terrazzo platform, sungkai wood screens, coconut wood and rattan furniture, old batik pillows in classic Yogyakarta style. Borobudur is carefully mirrored in the resort's design and central dome. Basically, Amanjiwo is designed to make you feel as though you do have the luxuries of home but are in the midst of central Java. I want to go there and treat a stay at the Amanjiwo as a one time experience :)
