We'll make it

I truly believe he is the one of the most wonderful person in the world, or lets say, in my world. He cares about me and makes sure I know it. He never mad at me though I'm so careless in many ways. He is always there for me and will drop everything else in his life in a heartbeat when I need him. I only hope that I can be just as good to him in return. I wish that every girl can be with someone as wonderful as him. Every girl deserves to be treated this way :)

My Magnum Experience

Magnum, a widely known ice cream product by Wall’s, is opening its cafe, the Magnum Cafe. I heard that queue is merciless there, but lucky me, when I tried to go there with my friend (it was a weekday around 4pm), we didn't have to queue and got a strategic table for two. The place looked pretty nice for a temporary cafe establishment. With royal victorian and monarchy theme and decoration, the place sure attracts a crowd that probably just queue to take some narcissistic pictures. I definitely loved the whole creative idea, but how about the food?
The menu is mostly desserts, with magnum ice cream as the focus. My espresso dream was definitely yummy! The price was affordable too. I especially loved the quote on the paper mat, "Life is like an ice cream! You have to lick it one day at a time"

you may feel your own magnum experience :)

I got Espresso Dream : Magnum + melted Belgian Chocolate + espresso. If I'm not mistaken, Vivi's was Waffle de Aristocrat: Waffle + Magnums + Profiteroles + Choco Sauce. To be honest I wanted to order another desserts, but the whole chocolate things were more than enough to fill me up -___-
Oh and after having our magnum experience, we decided to eat again at Pasta de Waraku (I ordered chicken curry that time). Sigh, I had a serious emotional eating problem.

First Haircut on 2012

The first thing we did when we arrived at Jakarta is... having  our hair cut at my idol's salon! Yeah I know it's kind of silly to have a haircut in a  salon just because your idol cut her hair there, but I delighted with the haircut I got! It wasn't the cheapest of options, but I think it's worth the price. The hairdresser was professional in advising and minimized the layers into a long thick hair exactly how I wanted it. Left feeling happy and would definitely come again someday.

Bandung, 3rd and 4th

On the first day of 2012, we had breakfast at Hummingbird Eatery. It can be easily recognized from its white ‘bird nest’ that covers the outdoor seats. The name Hummingbird itself is not just for show but you will see that they paint the details about the bird all over the walls inside. The remodeled diner a la casual and rustic French and Italian is the very heart of Hummingbird. But of course they also serve steaks and Asian course. I ordered Lucifer! The fun came from the good beef patties with mustard plus the sunny side up egg with onion jam and a cherry tomato. It was a good dish where they can elaborate the elements gracefully and with the hidden cheese, everything to me seemed like a dream come true. The savory beef patties combined with the honey mustard and the great onion jam with the brilliant sunny side up.

We continued to The Strudels, right in front of Hummingbird. Of course we ordered strudel, which is considered to be the national dish of Austria. I didn't feel well that day, so I spent the rest of the day sleeping at hotel.

On the next day, we went to TRANS STUDIO!

Hey twenty twelve

For about the 2 years in a row, I went for the same old resolution: getting in shape. I praised my friend who lost more than 30 pounds by giving up foods with sugar. Unfortunately, that is just about everything I like :O Although round is a shape, it is not the shape I crave. I want my 17-year-old body back hahaha. You can probably guess how those resolutions turned out. I’m certainly not going to post a picture of me here in a bikini. Ok that's a silly resolution. Let's talk about the real one. So here're my new year resolutions.
1. Spend less. I spent money on unnecessary things.  Before I buy something, I want to spend some time justifying the reason.
2. Get closer to God by spend more time with Him daily (every morning and night) “Come near to God and He will come near to you” (James 4:8)
3. Manage my time better. My sleep schedule is all out of whack. Basically I need to fix my sleep schedule back to something regular. The morning is actually my favorite time of day so I'd love to be awake to experience it.
Well, even though it seems people break them before they have finished making them, resolutions can be good things. It's important because it can promote goal-setting, which is critical to getting things done. Be very, very clear not only on how you will accomplish your resolution but also on why you want to accomplish it. It is also important to think them through and phrase them carefully and specifically. Framing the goal as a positive statement and picturing yourself undertaking the actions of the resolution will activate centers in your brain and make you more likely to fulfill it.

I didn't bring my camera along, so I use my mobile phone instead. I had a late dinner (again) at a western restaurant, then went to another cafe to celebrate New Year. At first, we didn't allowed to enter because it's fully booked. The waiter said that we supossed to make a reservation before, but finally we're allowed to sit and join the event. LUCKY me I got a blackberry that I won as a door-prize that night! I was happy so when we got home, I turned the music on and held an instant party. We rocked the night!

What's your resolution? How's it going? Let's change, starting today :)

Bandung, 2nd (cont.)

We were looking for a good place for early dinner. So we found this girly cafe, near our hotel. Ranging from around of IDR 10,000 to IDR 30,000, you can get almost everything you want from Western style food. Yes, it's cheap because you can get Beef Schnitzel for only IDR 19,000 and Fish & Chips for IDR 25,000. To be honest I was unimpressed with the food but perhaps you can challenge more from the drinks and the cake.

Being perhaps the second most advanced city in Indonesia for emerging modern culinary concepts, we wanted to try another cafe at Bandung. So we continued our foodie tour to a restaurant right behind my hotel. I found this restaurant was pretty cool with a minimalist concept. A very interesting feature is glass doors almost everywhere and bulbs as the major source of light. These doors make the space look wider and stick to minimalist style. We only ordered creme brulee and bruschetta bcs our tummy were bloated after eating too much that day. We had to attend a New Year's countdown event and planned to wear a tight clothes to welcome 2012 xp

Bandung, 2nd

After having breakie at hotel, we decided to walk from shop to shop and visit some places to eat. Below are some pics taken at a cafe boutique. I fell in love with the tea cup.

It is one of the first in Indonesia to be marketed around a healthy and organic food concept. As of today, it is more about marketing than about eating real healthy food, but that's a very good start for the country I think. The interior resembles that of a greenhouse garden, with a lot of sunlight coming in, and abundant vegetation, flowers and plants. It terms of design, it's perfect, but I found it way too warm inside, almost unbearable. The crowd is definitely upmarket, with always at least a few expatriates. My only problem was the warmth of the room. There is no aircon inside and it can be quite uncomfortable if you eat for lunch. I hope they will improve that particular point.

I found this restaurant recommended by a friend from Bandung. The waffle above were crunchy, sweet, and delicious as heaven! They have a lot of choice for toppings and flavors. If you don’t like something sweet, you can choose the heavy meal (try the pastas, sop buntut, and steak) and soup of the day offer by the restaurant. Although the place is not too big, Brussel Spring Bandung is quite comfortable with a fun decor concept.
